The fruit below is a pitaya or dragonfruit that I bought at my local fruit & veg shop! It comes from a cactus, and tastes very mild and has the consistency and crunch of a kiwi fruit.

This weekend I needed to turn in a timesheet at school, so I hopped on the bike and rode over to Herston again. Here's a picture of my new ride:

Isn't it pretty? The trip to Herston is actually really nice, but ends with a HUGE hill that I had to walk up. I'm not sure I'll ever be fit enough to ride up it!

Leah and I ventured out this morning to the Northey Street Organic Market, which is held each Sunday morning a few kms away from our neighborhood. The market is set up in a parking lot that is right next to City Farm, an organic farm growing stuff right here in the city. It's very granola, but a fun place to walk around! I could easily ride my bike here, so I might make that a habit on Sunday mornings.

I'm crossing my fingers that my cousin Carrie will leave Boston on time this week as she makes her way to Australia. This will be her 2nd international trip, and her first visit to OZ. I can't wait to show her around! I'll be meeting her in Sydney on Friday where we'll attend the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday. After that, we fly to Cairns and stay at Zimzala, the B&B where Mara and I spent a few days in November. I'll get to hit the reef again, and might end up rafting on the Tully River! The following weekend we'll head to Fraser Island with Sophie and Leah, which I am extremely excited about. It's gonna be a big two weeks...I'll post pictures as soon as I can!
